Body-Mind Psychotherapy for Trauma Healing

“Perhaps all the dragons in our lives are princesses who are only waiting to see us act, just once, with beauty and courage. Perhaps everything that frightens us is, in its deepest essence, something helpless that wants our love.” - Rainer Maria Rilke, Letters to a Young Poet

"The things that [women] reclaim are often their own voice, their own values, their imagination, their clairvoyance, their stories, their ancient memories. If we go for the deeper, and the darker, and the less known we will touch the bones.” ― Clarissa Pinkola Estés, Women Who Run With The Wolves

Find Support, Reclaim Your Instincts, Discover Deep Nourishment

Perhaps you feel stuck. You might feel overwhelmed, isolated, depressed, foggy, shameful, anxious, rigid or perfectionistic. M-Bodied gently invites the body into therapy as a container for exploration; a womb for self-discovery, nourishment and growth. Sometimes we talk, sometimes we move and make art, sometimes we explore developmental shapes or movement patterns, and sometimes we do all three. You set the pace.

M-Bodied: Mindful Movement as Mothering Medicine is a trauma-informed psychotherapeutic approach using polyvagal theory, attachment theory and Chi for Two® co-regulation practices offered through both talk therapy and relational, body-based techniques. Why are those things important to note?

  • Nervous system science shines light on the importance of supportive relationships for sustainable individual and collective growth and wellness.

  • With recognition of the possibilities and complexities of multigenerational patterning being passed down over time, having the opportunity to rewire a sense of safety and support for one’s nervous system and quality of being is possible and important for healing and growth.

  • When we consciously invite body-based techniques as symbolic redos, as relational practices, we have the opportunity for being deeply nourished.
